I love Helen Tilbury and her blog but I haven't found the time between work and family. This month however supporting Helen and her blog is a priority since she is so wonderfully kind to me and my work. Congratulations Helen!!!<br />

Now a days I celebrate any photo of my children that isn't a blur. My little angels seem to always be in motion and never looking at the camera this past year. I also, love the aqua shoe color and gold leaf on the balloons. Since we live in Florida - aqua means beach!!!</div>

Prima Seashore is the greatest collection for me - aquas and tans! Here I used the Prima coral reef flowers to trail my stamping and tar gel/microbeads. I just love the Say it in Crystals this season from Prima! Details:<br />

My rocks are modeling paste through a Prima rock stencil. Mixing Primary Elements into glass bead gel. When dry I touched then up with a brush and 13arts paints in mocha, olive and turquoise. A little bit of Lindy's Sleigh Bells Gold and they really are great beach texture. </div>
I also was inspired by <a href="http://flyingunicornforums.com/forum/topic/2861" target="_blank">the Mojo Monday</a> sketch by Alda Stevens at the Flying Unicorn!Cindy Keoghhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09309408047426765135noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2116639143233358948.post-2233847765842363812014-04-15T06:00:00.000-04:002014-04-15T06:00:03.888-04:00Mini Album - Prima Optimist - Marion Smith Tea PartyThis mini album was created for my step daughter in college. I almost fainted dead away when Alda Stevens, owner of the Flying Unicorn, requested that I do a video of the album for you tube. This mini is based on her tutorial. So if you would be so kind to for go the long post of pictures and join me at the Flying Unicorn you tube channel for my first video I would greatly appreciate it! There are tons of details in the video that a photograph just can't capture. Thank you Alda for the opportunity!<br />

It sat for a almost two years. Then as things happen I found it in a drawer and knew instantly that it would make a great gift for my mother in law. Once I finished it, I had a problem it needed a box. I have never made a box before this and the measurements were a little to tall. I used primarily Prima Printery and Engraver collection papers in 6x6 size for the pages. There is also a little Lyric collection too. <div>

So although the pages are pretty flat out of necessity of the way the chipboard folds on itself, I used modeling paste here and there for dimension and texture. </div>
<div>
Now the box! I reviewed lots of you tube videos from the Gentleman Crafter to learn how to pull this off. In retrospect I would have used duct tape to hinge the lid and covered with cardstock for added strength. </div>
<div>
The lid has tons of embellishments from Prima and some from Tim Holtz. I also used IOD Paintables to create a focal point.</div>

In the meantime this post is on a mini flip album inspired by Alda Stevens at the Flying Unicorn. For the tutorial I began with please click <a href="http://flyingunicornforums.com/forum/topic/2009" target="_blank">here</a>. This was really a great learning experience in structure. I also went a little flippin' crazy making extra flip tags and hidden pockets. The base of the book is 6x6 and about 4.5 inches wide.<br />
<br />
Here is the spine of the book and I think I will end up improving it as I am not quite happy with it.<br />

Here is the cover. I took a quote from Les Mis. it seemed appropriate as this is a gift for my aunt and she loves the musical. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Page six: </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A bit of vellum with border punching to add some softness. The front flip is a low pocket to hols tags.</div>

The back of the flip holds more tags and I fussy cut a beautiful bird image to create a pocket to hold a matching tag. The tag comes out to allow for a photo addition on both sides of the vellum flip.<br />

I think this is one of my favorite pages because the pink damask paper and bird sticker (backed with cardstock) are so striking together.<br />

The left front flip is open at the top to allow for a tag or photo to be tucked in. This page requires a seam binding ribbon tie to keep it closed. The right side clock/door handle image is also adhered to add in more tags.<br />

<span style="color: #0000ee;"><u><a href="http://flyingunicornforums.com/forum/top/72" target="_blank">Build a Banner with The Flying Unicorn Mid Month Muse</a></u></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Super long post on how I made the banner for the Mid Month Muse Guest Designer project. Grab a beverage of your choice and enjoy! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghiAuTuxjts55JNHRHQiUZy1mGiJvYc6icgWba9y_6CoeBchjt2kDc43oKJJ1QkK1VfV3uhyphenhyphenS-TeImtvZ6HC4J9Mgs5LLEqCUa8jkyUXWflSuvFmLEaCioqeIyuvFHZj3klaSH-k8v664/s640/Canvas+Unicorn+II+003.JPG" width="473" /></div>
<br />
Gesso Canvas<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghHHTukX8Gk99Lc-WsvmrRvkzNIrfGyXCdMoR0jevb3-f4Igs1NUTUx9X5_y77OgHxBuB_CL1QJeERP_4WroboNvavZ3qH2lGaJ2dQxWPIENBulKD4PX_j5xcyArAIsXc59WwDR2S58E8/s320/Unicorn+Canvas+002+%2528600x450%2529.jpg" width="320" /></div>
<br />
I pressed this banner before I began creating. I gessoed the banner with the initial thought of having an border masked all the around in black medium. I later abandoned this idea.<br />
Background Process<br />
Distress Paint – Vintage Photo, Stephanie Barnard Artichoke and Mister Huey’s Clay (Later covered the clay with Lindy’s Gossamer Gold)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="180" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWbyYo9WUz3oX0UAOunAWMY9geISTTt8zkjU2vt0I7S1po7CQTmNksw9ZO1dBfxcbkmWrX9HYp3ZkO__EdwpDdJQrLl_flBewHrovWqxmxq5ho_FEUfHuw690l_UtWeypvBKxORE67aiU/s320/Unicorn+Canvas+004+%2528600x339%2529.jpg" width="320" /></div>
I began with the Vintage Photo paint and dabbed it on around the edge of my gesso.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjybgExeiCgs_raQBXOVzwySjbjZeoDSwSZtFyYx2mnMOYbbCms_q-o_2qPT_86iIGybWQtxxCvYR-2exTDRskrudrE8tAmMdtWrOQ0Ntwh_Mn44aXIC8CgOGu6-SHa4jMOCOYzPW4gMj4/s320/Unicorn+Canvas+005+%2528600x375%2529.jpg" width="320" /></div>
I misted with water and lifted the canvas to allow the color to run up towards the top of the banner.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi50LMXiDo8P6Md_clbeWTivQ5Neavb-id2XnRiNp2YLOn_-UShivsjGUNq0GjbkunIuBnSd7PXStX6up_ZnaDM5EXKfhBS08l-uKzwzwqN0fd6sLG3h6uCb7_jdi5IJODBZ0vUmAqV-e4/s320/Unicorn+Canvas+006+%2528526x600%2529.jpg" width="280" /></div>
I sprayed the Stephanie Barnard Artichoke Spray – It is super concentrated so I sprayed a lot of water to dilute to a level of green I desired.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-VrtrisWn13KBnMtlCVLAlTgOS-SGeWPQE-3fjISxrDqTiQfqeQ3Sg3L4KjZOzEMal_osZaYq8nfGEd5KB7p1j7v9baHT7IE3mTPOe5ILVhXbGGWBazLD70-UILBIYcExlxyfoPYsFn0/s320/Unicorn+Canvas+007+%2528600x557%2529.jpg" width="320" /></div>
This is once the paint and spray were dry. Tip: The Artichoke spray is not permanent once dry. I later masked over the green and when the concrete stucco was dry the green had soaked up through to the top. It was awesome on the brick stencil!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="238" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTTXAIGYz_oLVkIFOjgs20SWdxrznL335YncSXvnghbcvGRKSI8QH0vblDnyib-N6gTXVheGO8I5ZmXyyadbjQ7UQNPTmoptBzdJX9YrQT3E7f-lbF7ub0I-zGgFsCxPmnHDs8AXwX-JM/s320/Unicorn+Canvas+009+%2528600x447%2529.jpg" width="320" /></div>
Masking Turkish Grunge 12” – top of banner<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="233" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxSl3tbBTkYlbWn5rmaKBNgZSNdlZtS8G4eOvEh0p_mlcnI2Ij_Xs7trGnIKedz9PouJ6ooK-2PJEQ2MOot8s3G-9281nt6f3202bIO_9L9o1S9XBNhjS-kHaPdHcEacmJcLPX-_lgYFE/s320/Unicorn+Canvas+011+%2528600x437%2529.jpg" width="320" /></div>
Masked Mini Bricks – Bottom of banner. The gray halo is the clay mist I later covered. It didn't show well off the gesso.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" height="224" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1f1V6rTNqKdjTDJHbM5ko-XHVEMrOIxDHRmx_HnA6FvLwA2D9JjCd7IgTXGULAMCvB2UFIQCjUa86evqsq8UkGTdrhPDS_Sn1sA0eQSOyNqfBGUqdox076g9u6zjK57GlUzfFYQzFP08/s320/Unicorn+Canvas+013+%2528600x420%2529.jpg" width="320" /></div>
Lindy’s Flat Fabio’s Beauty School Drop Out – Summer Lovin’ Sunshine, T-Bird Turquoise, Kissin Kenickies’s Coral and Pink Ladies Pink<br />
Lindy’s Drink Me Silly - Blue Hawaiian Blue, Cosmopolitan Pink, Fuzzy Naval Peach, My Mojito Green, Bit o’Bubbly<br />
I sprayed on the above colors in horizontal bands across the gesso. To avoid purple when the sprays mixed I used the coral colors as a buffer between blue and pink. I used the corals again between the yellow/gold colors and pinks. Once I sprayed the inks I lifted the canvas to mix the colors, my fingers as well. The Mojito Green was a good way to transition my Vintage photo and Artichoke.<br />

Remember that wonderful 12” French Lace we received a couple kits back. I unstitched it from the paper and cut it up into strips and pieces. I then used soft gel medium to adhere it to the canvas. It added wonderful texture to the background.<br />

Vines - I created dimensional Ivy vines over my brickwork. The Artichoke coming up through the Ceramic Stucco masking really reminded me of old mossy garden walls. I free hand drew in dimensional glue the vines and then with tweezers applied jewelry twine to the glue. I cleaned up the excess glue with tweezers. Since the twine is a light brown hemp color I applied Prima chalk ink Moss Lawn and Garden Green to the top of the twine when dry.<br />

At this point I decided I couldn't live with the clay mist. I gave the area below and on the sides of the gesso a spray of Lindy’s Gossamer Gold Moon Shadow Mist. Then I used the Kaisercraft grunge stamp with Sepia Archival Ink and without a block just stamped away.<br />

Prima Chalk inks are awesome!!! Here is how I painted my resin pieces.<br />
I dabbed the chalk inks I needed on the counter top (you can use your nonstick craft mat if you don’t scrap at your breakfast bar LOL) for the bird I brushed on Turquoise Stone. To have the color run into the crevices I dipped my finger into water and rubbed a bit here and there. Then I pulled Blue Jay and Farmers Jeans into the Turquoise in varying degrees to shade and accent the resin. I used Colt’s Foot for the beak, mixed in Knotted Wood for the feet with the Colt’s Foot. Black Coal for the eye. For the wishing well I used Rusty Bucket, Dark Bark and Knotted Wood for the brick base, Tin Can and Worn Jeans for the roof with Teal Damask for the water. I used Hot Glue to add the resin to the canvas.<br />
<br />

First I sponged on gesso leaving peaks of gesso on the chipboard for texture. When the gesso dried I applied a variety of the Metallic Run-ons from the kit to each letter. Some Rosewood and pink, Some blue and Silver…the peaks were nice and highlighted but it wasn't right. So I used Raspberry, Lady Bug and Old Rose chalk inks on the edges. That made them nice and bright, too much. I came back in and sponged on some more gesso lightly. That helped however laid on the banner was washed out. Final step I used the Mr. Huey’s Clay and Tattered Angels Black Magic with a paint brush to shadow the edges on the canvas and the alphas. I used E6000 to adhere the chipboard to the canvas.<br />
<br />

Tim Holtz Bird Cage – I gessoed the inside and outside of the cage. Once dry I dabbed on Rusty Bucket chalk ink. To bring back the “metal” I mixed the Pearl EX Old silver from our the May KOM with some soft gel medium and applied to the bars and the weld joints of the cages. I thought the cage needed something in it. I added and unaltered Flying Unicorn Adornment from the June KOM. It’s the Love Heart with wings. I found caging the word Love with wings quite funny. I added some tarnished looking jump rings and used E6000 to adhere to the canvas.<br />
<br />

The bottoms corners of the canvas I used the heart motif in the Prima Flourish mask with Shimmerz Dazzlers Licorice Stick. I used a pallet knife to apply the Dazzlers. I definitely need more of these colors. It applied really nicely to canvas so it must be a dream on smoother surfaces. <br />

Embossed Butterflies – The kit came with one Flying Unicorn Adornment Butterfly; I took the second one from my June KOM. I love this butterfly and could use about a dozen more for future projects. I tried two techniques to alter them. First I heated the adornment with a heat gun and applied blue and black glitter embossing powder. Second I used an embossing ink dauber (from the store) then embossed. I prefer the second method as I received more coverage. I love that the Adornment is thin and you can shape it for movement and dimension.<br />
Also pictured is where I tried to use the pastel pencils on the canvas with the TCW Cherry Blossom Mask. Then I overlaid the pencil with textured fibers medium mixed with Maidenhair Fern Green Lindy’s. The next morning it was dry and the medium had soaked into the canvas so no dimension. The pastel pencil came though so we will just view as a very distant tree branch. LOL<br />

This is a random assembly photo trying to build my dogwood branch. You can see that poor canvas flower that I gessoed and had plans for that didn't make it to the canvas along with bird cage chipboard. The branch was green paper covered heavy gauge floral wire that I painted with the Distress Paint and Distress Stain in Vintage Photo. I twisted the pieces together to add weight and interest. (I do know that Dogwood branches don’t resemble bonsai. LOL)<br />
The flowers and leaves are all die cut from white cardstock and colored in copic markers. The purple violets I used the pastels to accent. The centers are Viva Pearl Pen Sunny Yellow. I love yellow centers to flowers.<br />
Finishing up I randomly dropped so mixed pearl beads on the canvas. Pearls make me happy.<br />
My neighbor gave me a piece of bamboo from his stash (don’t ask) and cut it for the banner. I used left over painted floral wire and the Petaloo flowers to hang the banner.<br />
I am really honored that The Flying Unicorn allowed me the opportunity to be the Guest Designer from the Forums for the New Mixed Media Kit. It was so much fun playing with this large of a piece. I wouldn't have attempted this without the kit. With that said –<br />

Last month I was picked to be the first Guest Designer for <a href="http://www.flyingunicornstore.com/" target="_blank">The Flying Unicorn</a> Mid Month Muse. I was able to play with thier Mid Month Muse Mixed Media kit. I had so much FUN.<br />
<br />
Now the Flying Unicorn Kits tend to sell out very quickly. The debut kit sold out in like six to eight hours. Click the picture of the kit to link right to the shop.<br />
<br />
The kit contained a large Banner Canvas (18" x 27") from Canvas Corp along with many other yummy goodies. I chose to approach the banner like a large garden and filled it with images of things that make me happy!<br />

Good morning, today is 5/15 and the reveal for our mid month challenge at About a Boy! This round we have a White plus One challenge. This made my head hurt - one color on white - very limiting for me. However I really like the results - let me know what you think...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I had Prima Engraver stashed for a month or so just admiring the flowers and papers. I think we all do this with collection at least once, LOL. I had the newsprint Prima Vine and some chipboard that worked with my oldest son's picture. The stencil is done with painting on white and then black gesso accents. The vines and leaves are Spellbinders dies to fill in the spaces.<br />

<span style="line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="clear: none;">
<div style="font-family: Georgia;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;">There are prizes to be had - all you need to do is leave comments for the designers by May 10th and you will be eligble to win!</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;">For this layout I have to thank Beth Frappier for the photo. She is soo good to me. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;">I used the Sparkle N Sprinkle Embossable Acetate to create an overlay from the Silouttes Stamps. The Pear and Moss Tuscany Embossing Powders are perfect together to create this beachy grass foreground. The Willow Branch Stamp, upside down, reminded me of sea plants and made a nice accent for my peek-a-boo corner.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;">I stuck with turquoise and pale green mists that remind me of the Gulf of Mexico.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia;">
<span style="line-height: 17px;">Since the photo had such natural texture from the dock I chose linen, gauze, a cord flower, hemp twine and cork alphas for embellishments. </span></div>

This time is creating a layout that depicts your boy being a typical boy. I was lucky enough to have my youngest do just that and capture it on camera.<br />
<br />
In Florida we have lovebugs. These firefly size insects swarm about twice a year here. Really messy to the car windshields and acidic so they eat car paint. However to an almost three year old they are fantastic! Easy to chase and catch and SQUASH! He has such a blast when it is lovebug season.<br />
<br />
I used Kaisercraft 75 cents collection that I just adore! I will most defiantly be restocking this collection in my stash. The colors are perfect for boys with a mixed media look. I masked the background flowers and painted with Lindy's mists. I had a cute die cut that I divided and also painted with Lindy's. I used Prima chalk inks to add depth to the edges of the papers.I also used the white chalk ink through a tiny circles mask on the background. A couple of fussy cut butterflies and pleated paper ribbons and my layout is complete!<br />

<br />
The Flying Unicorn had a <a href="http://flyingunicornforums.com/forum/topic/1893" target="_blank">card challenge </a>for making a flower pot card. The cards were adorable so I decided to give it a try.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9qqFF3VsYOcDhSkq6pHk8ACz8XttM51fsuI1viK0BUNflHtvvhZHdi4jeeM5v21RJ9qgVcsCCGqgVgvk6L8sliZQ_c_vkQ-zKsSaoB0ZV0dEEHc2ptrcNTwYjc8bysLyEY4dBa7F1JhU/s1600/card+mothers+001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9qqFF3VsYOcDhSkq6pHk8ACz8XttM51fsuI1viK0BUNflHtvvhZHdi4jeeM5v21RJ9qgVcsCCGqgVgvk6L8sliZQ_c_vkQ-zKsSaoB0ZV0dEEHc2ptrcNTwYjc8bysLyEY4dBa7F1JhU/s640/card+mothers+001.JPG" width="424" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Pretty cute right! Well there is more...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJgy9MQQbEwnJIc45_f7nuaRkXQ9SEW2uhIgLsydFkwWzco5R8OWhgdtRM8BHDlt3hWhkXOng3XqMStNRKo2mqFdWK3_HARtEWmaKpk-nYpALMCjCI8__T95MhewgYrXcl_hsIPU-Ctx8/s1600/card+mothers+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="596" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJgy9MQQbEwnJIc45_f7nuaRkXQ9SEW2uhIgLsydFkwWzco5R8OWhgdtRM8BHDlt3hWhkXOng3XqMStNRKo2mqFdWK3_HARtEWmaKpk-nYpALMCjCI8__T95MhewgYrXcl_hsIPU-Ctx8/s640/card+mothers+002.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It pulls a part to this darling tag that you can write or stamp a sentiment! Forgive my sense of humor - but truly from conception well into our adult years our mothers are our guiding force and anchor. This card is also really versatile for Get Well and Thinking of You occasions.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp, glitters and embossing powders on this card as follows:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cardstock - white and colored</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Distress inks - Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Bundled Sage, Antique Linen, Tattered Rose, Spun Sugar, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Petaloo vines</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Flower Punch</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Border Punch</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Spellbinders Bitty Blossom Dies</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I just purchased the Bitty Blossom dies and I love the leaves. I did however struggle with the flowers. I could cut and roll them just fine. However, I was dissatisfied with the shading and color. Then after tossing a few and staring at the unrolled flower on colored cardstock I wondered why I wasn't following my usual process of die cutting in white and then using inks to add color. So here is what I did:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Die cut and emboss white cardstock:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwqBl2JsXUCiDnUh_tIDv6K5JZedhV0BSSSGP522O8Rucf8EGTOFLSQN9btu07yIffXeVmkkYEAhKvdxsCsgKE35UJzE8gk5xIDyI0KD8LQfeKoEVn68CfalrSxsBrnZF24S9H9HczAq4/s1600/card+mothers+003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="235" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwqBl2JsXUCiDnUh_tIDv6K5JZedhV0BSSSGP522O8Rucf8EGTOFLSQN9btu07yIffXeVmkkYEAhKvdxsCsgKE35UJzE8gk5xIDyI0KD8LQfeKoEVn68CfalrSxsBrnZF24S9H9HczAq4/s320/card+mothers+003.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I choose two yellow inks, using the darker of the two I inked what will become the inside bottom of the flower:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3qkO6KsB4YmCaTqtoQtUyG0zQ0PETWRBtu6HDczMPnD6MYe5S2w1hgsOX3kFLRXPWAJvETBxVbISVyfKmkG-blY8ZBjrCp8rKtMmzi_qhTDSC-koXuhNeAYmotTE6OX3g5OO61h8H0hY/s1600/card+mothers+004.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="309" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3qkO6KsB4YmCaTqtoQtUyG0zQ0PETWRBtu6HDczMPnD6MYe5S2w1hgsOX3kFLRXPWAJvETBxVbISVyfKmkG-blY8ZBjrCp8rKtMmzi_qhTDSC-koXuhNeAYmotTE6OX3g5OO61h8H0hY/s320/card+mothers+004.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The video on using this die calls for pushing the petals into a foam mat - I used some brad foam packaging and the end of my paint brush:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVCXTgyCxTvwYrB4wiGkjverRUVp7yZTNw1RuldDlT8sU3Q4hxSQMVxcnc0ic3MLA24Vu-VW3iREsmr-Vdtqs798Nsaqzvxn70MIes4g2FgXP-DsZqfZPNBeIqJvhSV1ah2wmlaDqLH14/s1600/card+mothers+006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVCXTgyCxTvwYrB4wiGkjverRUVp7yZTNw1RuldDlT8sU3Q4hxSQMVxcnc0ic3MLA24Vu-VW3iREsmr-Vdtqs798Nsaqzvxn70MIes4g2FgXP-DsZqfZPNBeIqJvhSV1ah2wmlaDqLH14/s320/card+mothers+006.JPG" width="278" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This pushing of the flower does most of the shaping and petal cupping for you:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnP5g9_Veiau0KfjtzZ3hKx3RG9ItapG1aegKZzIRc2Wa0BoO42TW5W3jiiogrvxrdPNwh60dTZQdn682LBPB9v5meLa7OGbOcKBQ3vMcrJa3Xrq5Nz5ZTzsxfYqgHRtPfgpw1GxXrbkE/s1600/card+mothers+007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnP5g9_Veiau0KfjtzZ3hKx3RG9ItapG1aegKZzIRc2Wa0BoO42TW5W3jiiogrvxrdPNwh60dTZQdn682LBPB9v5meLa7OGbOcKBQ3vMcrJa3Xrq5Nz5ZTzsxfYqgHRtPfgpw1GxXrbkE/s320/card+mothers+007.JPG" width="261" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then you roll the flower tightly:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU7wHjkl6b3toRDNgSB0AAHJGb9WyJ7xXxbaYVwpE-TSEU0U9QmzQr1fOWBpDqh25fQcSGbUzp3LVXPkXzagoK6-ItDwMc64L5bJJYmuwobxbSCFpS9EhPIRKhB2f0Ez6g4s3uqp-Cn54/s1600/card+mothers+008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU7wHjkl6b3toRDNgSB0AAHJGb9WyJ7xXxbaYVwpE-TSEU0U9QmzQr1fOWBpDqh25fQcSGbUzp3LVXPkXzagoK6-ItDwMc64L5bJJYmuwobxbSCFpS9EhPIRKhB2f0Ez6g4s3uqp-Cn54/s320/card+mothers+008.JPG" width="245" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used Dimensional glue on the dollop of paper that is the flower base:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZhHp30yDUaTHG2pK5EsbAa8IJQaTdNLzNKpUdyDDCrT9m2J3nRB9N7WC2eeePdAqlpq8f0Wyc7bGCTu5PInm7zr4V_cjfxDOjUH0WbP-GOGHK0n_aAbKtIgFOvSQb7bPrh8sLe7F7LRA/s1600/card+mothers+009.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZhHp30yDUaTHG2pK5EsbAa8IJQaTdNLzNKpUdyDDCrT9m2J3nRB9N7WC2eeePdAqlpq8f0Wyc7bGCTu5PInm7zr4V_cjfxDOjUH0WbP-GOGHK0n_aAbKtIgFOvSQb7bPrh8sLe7F7LRA/s320/card+mothers+009.JPG" width="226" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As the glue is drying I fussed with the tightness of the bloom center and worked the petals until I was happy - </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRbpuT4g0dJaxmvFoBBdX4ozXgSB1D4VTJJt4sTEHiTkUvt9STBA6f9N2wDLIqlW9r8VhwKTKZv1Fw-QIzMeRVjrsOYD9Jbuuwz34H6VwAhs2UepohuRKqSNIFpnBZt30-2G8jkMdNphU/s1600/card+mothers+010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRbpuT4g0dJaxmvFoBBdX4ozXgSB1D4VTJJt4sTEHiTkUvt9STBA6f9N2wDLIqlW9r8VhwKTKZv1Fw-QIzMeRVjrsOYD9Jbuuwz34H6VwAhs2UepohuRKqSNIFpnBZt30-2G8jkMdNphU/s320/card+mothers+010.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I inked the outer petals in lighter yellow ink. I am using chalk inks that dry really fast.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQpDgOiV3qXMiZsHLehCoIavPdLwaNNgpO9I7QHj2X_cw-ZolsyhwhpGCc4zod0YjCIXN8TQUIbYiR0zV4W4R3cndP_O76vUS7DTRNRznqRawzopfwCfp2Zp1H2AhGsd7bRgpBPjm5CEk/s1600/card+mothers+011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQpDgOiV3qXMiZsHLehCoIavPdLwaNNgpO9I7QHj2X_cw-ZolsyhwhpGCc4zod0YjCIXN8TQUIbYiR0zV4W4R3cndP_O76vUS7DTRNRznqRawzopfwCfp2Zp1H2AhGsd7bRgpBPjm5CEk/s320/card+mothers+011.JPG" width="305" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am starting to like the depth of color on the flower but I want glitz too like fresh morning dew. I added Brushable Glue with my finger to the tops of the petals pretty heavily and some drips into the flower.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioWh1ennx_aAnzvty6dzgwUwFIySRyYBTcs5fW9m9LcpeC-kkGgnT1NO7L7XBfdo3hVCfuM118Bs_VjoI0HYQZtuhvKhMh4O6_-dZqa8gdrhxCRXZKsqPKlW89vWE5eJkMXna7XhvCtyc/s1600/card+mothers+012.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="277" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEioWh1ennx_aAnzvty6dzgwUwFIySRyYBTcs5fW9m9LcpeC-kkGgnT1NO7L7XBfdo3hVCfuM118Bs_VjoI0HYQZtuhvKhMh4O6_-dZqa8gdrhxCRXZKsqPKlW89vWE5eJkMXna7XhvCtyc/s320/card+mothers+012.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Adding a healthy coat of Lemonade Glitter - this glitter adds color and sparkle to my bloom:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5Kxy1p_yO_muKLFLHWMCKjqGMEVMh1euWWvACc9fEdFMJSeatOy-5qspU8X9s538iC3hZMy2EWNUQmfiOLN61Q74mxVzMG8qlK1wWfHHOx86tFAcUie7pU82LZMwL749j_WLHIzepy78/s1600/card+mothers+014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="245" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5Kxy1p_yO_muKLFLHWMCKjqGMEVMh1euWWvACc9fEdFMJSeatOy-5qspU8X9s538iC3hZMy2EWNUQmfiOLN61Q74mxVzMG8qlK1wWfHHOx86tFAcUie7pU82LZMwL749j_WLHIzepy78/s320/card+mothers+014.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now I am happy with the variation in color and pretty sparkle - the glue is still wet but when it dried on the yellow and lavender flower I really was happy. You could also come back when dry and mist lightly with some of our <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/index.php?cPath=25_231" target="_blank">Memories Mists</a> in the store for some more color and shine...I used diluted Lavender Tea on my small lavender flower on the card. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This clock will be a gift to my wonderful cousin and his new bride shortly. They love to travel even at a whim to drive to the Keys for a night from Washington DC. Just so you know this is about 1200 mile drive for one day at the beach.<br />
<br />
This is a Kaisercraft Clock that I used primary Gallivant papers to decorate.<br />
I use <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/" target="_blank">Sparkle N Sprinkle</a> Glitters to make this project glimmer.<br />

<br />
At <a href="http://itsabouttheboys.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">About a Boy</a> we have a new challenge opening for a layout using Art Work from your little man!<br />
<br />
So my layout I set my oldest loose on a 12x12 piece of cardstock that I had pre-stamped in ink and embossed some. He filled the whole page with almost all his water colors. The photo is a few weeks earlier when he was creating another masterpiece.<br />
<br />
From here I misted in some Lindy's Gossamer Gold to even out the colors a bit. I masked some Tiny dots and Diamonds masks for texture. The papers are from Webster and the die cuts Kaisercraft. The flowers are Prima Soprano with a couple Flying Unicorn Adornments. Papers and flowers are form my March kit from the Flying Unicorn. I did a bit of inking with the new Prima white chalk inker - I really love this one.<br />
<br />
So this is defiantly the most colorful layout that has ever been produced from our house. However, my oldest was so proud to show Daddy and Grandpa the layout HE made. LOL<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwOw0d8Kvwo-gDoo7G9GjvgD0UxLvw1Wq-c_YRKacVr7SfP7utzZYBd1vT0h4LnKlUNn1LcXD4s92i_DtrADYCk3oSnkmKYkVOs2Sk6tKsYYEungO46H0vfymPUuMdXU9sd7gxDEhwQWU/s1600/Art+work+Myles+010b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwOw0d8Kvwo-gDoo7G9GjvgD0UxLvw1Wq-c_YRKacVr7SfP7utzZYBd1vT0h4LnKlUNn1LcXD4s92i_DtrADYCk3oSnkmKYkVOs2Sk6tKsYYEungO46H0vfymPUuMdXU9sd7gxDEhwQWU/s640/Art+work+Myles+010b.jpg" width="636" /></a></div>

I chose Bird Song to incorporate with the new Authentique Strong Collection now available.<br />
<br />
The photo is a phone picture of my oldest son sharing his sundae with his Grandpa. It was too sweet not to hope for a decent picture. I have fussy cut the photo for this layout.<br />
<br />
I added a lot of background masking and gesso to this layout. For detailed recipe please follow this <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/g/view_photo.php?set_albumName=Scrapbook&id=agl" target="_blank">link </a>to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Gallery.<br />
<br />
The new stamp set has wonderful feathers, a nest, birds and sentiments. So versatile for cards, layouts or altered items.<br />
<br />
I used the Garden Grid stencil from TCW with black gesso in the background. I dry brushed white gesso all over the page to mute the pattern but still allow it to show through. The birds on a wire stamp with this collection is perfect for background stamping. I used it by sponging on black gesso and it gave a nice shabby look for this project.<br />

<br />
<br />
I am really excited to be participating in my first blog hop for Sparkle N Sprinkle with my first official post as a member of the design team. The ladies on this team are so wonderful and talented!<br />
<br />
My project for the hop is a layout and since it is my first DT design I have used several of SNS products to make this project sparkle like the stars! The design is inspirered by a sketch by <a href="http://myscrappingplace-tammy.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Tammy Henderson</a>.<br />
<br />
My roses foliage are die cut from <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=25_198&products_id=5256" target="_blank">Rose Creations</a> on <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=25_76&products_id=3681" target="_blank">Super Adhesive Sheets</a> and then covered with <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=6281" target="_blank">Orchid Rose Velvet Glitter</a>. I used a soft gel medium to seal the glitter and stiffen the flowers for shaping.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCuLdURN6jQahwOt6WB_5McZqN6qLAL7H8hS2-rTJe07bMKlZ4Yp-8kOFTqb0Zmmteja9q5A-EsS2eu_kzNagkJhUjNFX4Bj3H5s60aTot_PbUdak-1NURNsv8QVBaaWwc-IafzElmj9c/s1600/Wish+001a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="638" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCuLdURN6jQahwOt6WB_5McZqN6qLAL7H8hS2-rTJe07bMKlZ4Yp-8kOFTqb0Zmmteja9q5A-EsS2eu_kzNagkJhUjNFX4Bj3H5s60aTot_PbUdak-1NURNsv8QVBaaWwc-IafzElmj9c/s640/Wish+001a.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The large butterfly was embossed with <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=22_60&products_id=1154" target="_blank">Stickum Powder</a> and <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=23_163&products_id=2530" target="_blank">Green Iris</a> glitter. I love the effect of the slight bit of color in the midst of all the glitz!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF4LI2X6B0vpG_z60Qei5ILIdG3FWR-M1OlpL2Fr5PenGzJov1Vv6vNjGzy_ok5T6rEsg_ahyphenhyphenRK43K3rIDgu7i7jqLIzsmyaAlSNIPM1IfUvThBQR2oqFc1uMDGAx4CUNFd1e6QJjXIKs/s1600/Wish+001b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF4LI2X6B0vpG_z60Qei5ILIdG3FWR-M1OlpL2Fr5PenGzJov1Vv6vNjGzy_ok5T6rEsg_ahyphenhyphenRK43K3rIDgu7i7jqLIzsmyaAlSNIPM1IfUvThBQR2oqFc1uMDGAx4CUNFd1e6QJjXIKs/s640/Wish+001b.jpg" width="638" /></a></div>
<br />
I embossed and glittered my chipboard with <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=1347" target="_blank">Golden Silver glitter</a>, <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=4840" target="_blank">By the Lake EP</a> and <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=4557" target="_blank">Spring Willow EP</a>. The doily is treated with random glitter <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=4140" target="_blank">Lemonade </a>and Golden Silver.<br />
<br />
My leaves are treated with Spring Willow EP and <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=1318" target="_blank">Misty Isles</a> glitter<br />
My background page I masked with iridescent medium tinted with acrylic inks.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwyX0Gi4Vy3DjMDmDfsEDaHAUDg7DJRko72piafoN79yHA7XCmdhG8nNTUiTj7MLlUfJ0RKMNb4VUjOhKSP34qNf_tslNyP8raVGyKMkL933rkR4cTFrTIbk6DhwpLhiyyQ11oIFryD2A/s1600/Wish+001-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwyX0Gi4Vy3DjMDmDfsEDaHAUDg7DJRko72piafoN79yHA7XCmdhG8nNTUiTj7MLlUfJ0RKMNb4VUjOhKSP34qNf_tslNyP8raVGyKMkL933rkR4cTFrTIbk6DhwpLhiyyQ11oIFryD2A/s640/Wish+001-001.JPG" width="638" /></a></div>
<br />
I used several stamps as embellishments on this page.<br />
<a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=82_99&products_id=6239" target="_blank">Stamp Set 490 Spring Florals</a> - Fussy cut, water colors and glitter<br />

Chevrons is the first challenge this month - and I have sewn mine on my layout in linen.<br />
<br />
This is my youngest the morning after his ER visit for stitches. This was not a happy day but we made it through and I have journaling on the back of the layout about this day.<br />
<br />
In have used four masks with distress inks, gesso, mists, stucco and molding paste. I used a clear acrylic frame and stamped a Prima Love frame on part. The frame is attached with my larger stitches. I used a Flying Unicorn Adornment clock with Tim Holtz safety pin and thread. The torn papers are Glitz and Prima Craftsman on a Kaisercraft Sears and Sons background paper. I stayed away from red and anything flowing to avoid a gory feeling. The alphas are Little Yellow Bicycle cork that I inked in brown and then used light blue and red gelatos to highlight.<br />
<br />
It is a simple layout with loads of texture including all the drywall tape bits.<br />

Today I have a layout for a lift the Guest Designer at <a href="http://flyingunicornforums.com/forum/topic/1818" target="_blank">The Flying Unicorn forum challenge</a> - The Guest Designer one of my Favorites <a href="http://solangescrap.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Solange Marques</a>! I lifted #4 which is the little girl on the beach piece she posted on 2/13 - Here's the <a href="http://solangescrap.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2013-02-14T15:49:00-08:00&max-results=7" target="_blank">link</a>.</div>

This piece will go to a friend of mine from <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/" target="_blank">Sparkle N Sprinkle</a> - <a href="http://www.stampinhands.com/" target="_blank">Jill Jacobson</a> who donated the wonderful photo. I still can't get over the lush purple in this photo, not only her dress but his pants and their shoes! Love it....</div>

Thank you for your visit - I love reading your comments!Cindy Keoghhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09309408047426765135noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2116639143233358948.post-65402692711386852312013-03-15T01:00:00.000-04:002013-03-15T01:00:04.004-04:00Impossible<br />
It's Reveal Day at <a href="http://itsabouttheboys.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">About a Boy</a> Scrapbook Challenge Blog - This rounds challenge use you scraps.<br />
So I have scraps of chipsboard and random other bits from other projects.<br />
<br />
I have used two new to me Donna Downey Stencils to mask the flowers with Ceramic Stucco medium. The stucco has a really nice texture and with a viva decor copper pen and some Lindy's mist painted on they are really cute.<br />
<br />
The sentiment tag is really appropirate since my husband should not have been able to produce children and yet here is out first son at a couple of weeks old. :)<br />
<br />
We hope you join us for this challenge and have fun creating with your scraps!<br />

I have a new layout to share using Authentique papers soon to be available from <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/" target="_blank">Sparkle and Sprinkle</a> and the wonderful <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=25_198&products_id=6040" target="_blank">Lifestyle Crafts flourish die</a> they sell. This layout will go to live in their shop with Margaret soon.<br />
<br />
Huge thank you to my friend for letting scrap their photos!<br />
<br />
I had inspiration from two <a href="http://flyingunicornforums.com/forum/top/72" target="_blank">Flying Unicorn BAP</a>s one by <a href="http://vintagescrappin.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Denise Jensen</a> and the other by <a href="http://bry-and-i.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Adrienne Ford</a>. I also been admiring the look of repetitive photos and trailing embellishments for some time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdH6g9p9IFQPuGngBVj4ZfBv287ieCUt489ugRhgsx24GDJpoX7xZTOmAIjxP_vx1SPBCA621Jpuf7qNEwwcjjSNgncJdldyKcNCiwIq_s0PwimazsbVUqybyEmOi6PawaKjXtGJdrdzU/s1600/Authentique+one+171-001.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="626" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdH6g9p9IFQPuGngBVj4ZfBv287ieCUt489ugRhgsx24GDJpoX7xZTOmAIjxP_vx1SPBCA621Jpuf7qNEwwcjjSNgncJdldyKcNCiwIq_s0PwimazsbVUqybyEmOi6PawaKjXtGJdrdzU/s640/Authentique+one+171-001.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
My papers are Autentique Cherish One and Two with a Title from their Enhancements page. I started with gesso on my background and misted with Route 66 Glimmer mist, Rosey Plain Jane Sheer and Lindy's Stamp Gang Primrose Gold. I then used a floral stamp with Distress Inks Pumice. For my swirls I sprayed the die cut in Primrose Gold and Rosey Plain Jane then inked with Pumice Distress ink. The darker swirls are Victorian Velvet and Pumice Inks. I then cut the 11" die to arrange the parts.<br />
The chipboard hearts are covered in gesso and <a href="http://www.blogger.com/"><span id="goog_1601207046"></span>Lavender Iris Glitter</a>. The photos don't do the glitter justice - the glints of lavender in the white is just magical. Once dry, I brushed on Golden Soft Gel for gloss and Pumice Distress inks on the edge. The swirl chip board is from WOW Belle Flourish. I embossed with <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=1129" target="_blank">Gilded Ivory</a> and <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?products_id=1243" target="_blank">Sweetheart</a>. The pink roses are Prima Avon Rose Pixie Glen. The White flowers are misted in Cosmos Glimmer Mist and Route 66 and are Prima Soprano White. My leaves are Spellbinders Foliage and <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/o/product_info.php?cPath=25_198&products_id=5256" target="_blank">Rose Creations</a>. I misted them in Lindys Freaky Franken Lime and Gossamer Gold. I then brushed the leaves, swirls and Soprano flowers with glass bead gel for texture and shine. Some close ups:<br />

Since my secret recipient has received and revealed the ATC's I think it is OK to share here.<br />
<br />
Please keep in mind that ATC's are 2.5" x 3.5". I used 140lb water color paper to cut our my cards so that they wouldn't warp. The swap was to send four ATC's of which two had to be 3D. Below are my creations:<br />
<br />
Happy Mail - Webster Pages Park Avenue collection and Spellbinders Butterfly. I glued two clean and simple patterns together and water distressed to make the opening to see the door frame. I added distressed Tattered Rose to the butterfly to highlight the embossing. Finished off with Tattered Angels to make it sparkle.<br />
(Happy Mail is a term at the Flying Unicorn for scrappy goodies arriving!)<br />

It's reveal day for <a href="http://itsabouttheboys.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">About a Boy</a> March 1st Challenge - Hoarders...Head on over and see the other wonderful designs by the team and play along!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The challenge is to use items in your stash for a year. I had a thing for My Minds Eye - Lost and Found and Everyday Fun. However when I got the papers they went into the desk and I would look and look but never used them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
These are my boys playing in a card board box - favorite toy of toddlers... </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I distressed the edges of the background page and played with masks and black gesso and mists. The circles were inked and distressed. I used a small jelly jar with mist and acrylic ink to stamp small circles in the background. The gears are Petalpoo - misted with Lindy's Stamp Gang moon shadow mists. I used a 7 gypsies punch on the matting to imitate notebook torn sheets. The burlap was also colored with LSG using a daubber. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

There were 10 criteria based on love - flowers (homemade) - Bling - Ribbon - etc. Also no red, pink or white for the layout about love.<br />
So I worked and practiced flowers, changed photos, tossed a background and then it finally came together.<br />

The photo is from our wedding cutting the cake. The song quoted is John Turner Your Man that the Hubby sung to me while we were dating. I made the roses from Spellbinders Rose Creations, the daisies from their daisy flower topper, an EK success punch for the other flowers and rolled rose buds. The background is TCW Antiquities in molding paste and Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists. The large paper swirls are from a Lifestyle crafts die. I colored the roses in Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Stormy Sky and Weathered Wood distressed inks. I distressed the edges of the background and inked in Antique Linen, Stormy Sky and Walnut.<br />

The leaves are from Rose Creations and Foliage dies inked in Peeled Paint, Evergreen, Forest Moss, Bundled Sage and Crushed Olive distress inks. Nothing characterizes my oldest as an infant then his Wooby. Wooby is a blanket with a stuffed toy head and arms that rattles. My oldest boy's twist on this common toy he used it as a pacifier. I believe we had eight or nine of variations of the toy just in case because he wouldn't go to sleep without it.<br />
<br />
The layout has vellum die cuts, an embossed chipboard bear, masked hearts and circles and two large hearts masked with texture paste. The mist is cornflower blue antiquing solution. The hearts were colored with gelattos. The stamps are from Walmart dollar bin. :)<br />

This month they had a great build a page where <a href="http://vintagescrappin.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Denise Jensen</a> detailed water distressing - wet the page and mold the paper into the awesome draping or pleated shape.<br />
<br />
Also, my other favorite place <a href="http://sparklensprinkle.com/" target="_blank">Sparkle and Sprinkle</a> - take a look at the adorable crawling baby stamp and the title. Great deeply etched rubber stamps - excellent detail. I utilized their embossing powders in several locations - mainly 3 pinks - Cotton Candy, Sweetheart and Melon Twist and 2 champagne colors - Vintage and Glisten. Wonderful way to add shine and glimmer to embellishments and papers.<br />
<br />
On this page I used the new February Flying Unicorn kit - Celebrate Every Love - tons of goodies in this sold out kit. I used cream chiffon in the upper left corner twisted and knotted to pull in the sheers in the photo behind the baby. I carefully embossed tulle with vintage embossing powder - you have about 2 seconds after the embossing powder set until the tulle will melt and crinkle.<br />
