It's reveal day and a new challenge at About a Boy! Chevrons is the first challenge this month - and I have sewn mine on my layout in linen.
This is my youngest the morning after his ER visit for stitches. This was not a happy day but we made it through and I have journaling on the back of the layout about this day.
In have used four masks with distress inks, gesso, mists, stucco and molding paste. I used a clear acrylic frame and stamped a Prima Love frame on part. The frame is attached with my larger stitches. I used a Flying Unicorn Adornment clock with Tim Holtz safety pin and thread. The torn papers are Glitz and Prima Craftsman on a Kaisercraft Sears and Sons background paper. I stayed away from red and anything flowing to avoid a gory feeling. The alphas are Little Yellow Bicycle cork that I inked in brown and then used light blue and red gelatos to highlight.
It is a simple layout with loads of texture including all the drywall tape bits.
I read each and every comment on my work - so feel free to let me know your thoughts!
Wonderful layout, Cindy! I love all the elements! Yes, time will heal that scar!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I have a tiny little scar in almost the identical place! LOVE your layout, Cindy. A great way of capturing the little boy, mixed with the elements of time and ruggedness. hugs, de
